About Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey

Tullamore Dew BarrelsTullamore Dew is a premium Irish whiskey with a distinctively smooth and accessible taste, and is one of Ireland’s most widely available whiskies, appreciated the world over.

The origins of Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey can be traced back to 1829 when the Tullamore Distillery was founded in Tullamore, County Offaly, situated in the heart of Ireland. The original site now hosts a Heritage Centre where the full history is told.

Three Tullamore Dew whiskies are produced: the original Tullamore Dew blend, Tullamore Dew 12 year old and Tullamore Dew Heritage.

Tullamore Dew Bottle and GlassTullamore Dew’s distinctive flavour is derived from the use of unmalted barley; the malting process itself - where the malted barley is dried in enclosed ovens, rather than over peat smoke used in Scotch – and the three-stage distilling process for extra purity. Three styles of whiskey make up Tullamore Dew - pot still, grain and malt whiskey – and the resulting blend is matured for between four and seven years in oak casks.

Tullamore Dew is the No.2 Irish whiskey brand in the world with sales of over 600,000 cases in 2007. It is currently the fastest growing Irish whiskey brand globally in the fastest growing spirits category. With growth rates of +20% per annum Tullamore Dew continues to far outstrip the category growth rate. It is now the No.1 Irish whiskey brand in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Latvia. In the last three of those, it also significantly outsells Scotch whisky.
